Kiwanis International (www.kiwanis.org) was organized in Detroit, Michigan. The club was officially formed when it received its charter from the state of Michigan on January 21, 1915. Currently headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kiwanis International is a thriving organization of service and community oriented men and women who support children and young adults around the world. There are currently more than 500,000 Kiwanians across 79 countries who have dedicated themselves to perform acts of service for the community.

The Kiwanis of Chesterfield received its charter in 1950. Over the past 60 plus years, we have dedicated our time and resources to projects around the greater Richmond area, with the aim of bettering the lives of the youth in our community. Our primary annual fund raiser is a Spring golf tournament held at the Independence Club. The profits from this and any other activities help support our charitable efforts for such organizations as the CSB Christmas Families, the Manchester Rescue Squad, the Girl and Boy scouts, Children's Miracle Network and Horses in Service Campership. We also provide scholarship opportunities for Key Clubs at Clover Hill and James River Highschools. In addition, we support causes such as the Tsunami Relief Fund and Hurricane Katrina Relief, when natural disasters affect humanity worldwide.
